ACRES: Australian Centre for Remote Sensing. Part of AUSLIG and responsible for Landsat reception in Australia.
ABS: Australian Bureau of Statistics. The Australian Government body responsible for collecting statistical information on many facets of Australian life.
AEST: Australian Eastern Standard Time.
Albers Projection: A map projection, such that equal areas on the map correspond to equal areas on the ground.
WRS: World Reference System. An identification system used to refer to the position of a satellite scene on the surface of the earth.
