The next site represents a very different landcover type and is an interesting colour in the Difference FCC image. The focus is the large wetland, Lake Cooloongup, east of Rockingham. In the Difference FCC image it has a blue tone indicating an increase in greenness. How can that be? The ground photographs show how a lake polluted by high nutrient runoff from agricultural fields and a golf course can become green. It now has a very high surface cover of algae; it has become eutrophic.
