SPOT image of Canberra

The spatial resolution (pixel size) of this image data is 20m x 20 m. This is to be compared with the 80m x 60 m of Landsat MSS that is used throughout the book. The difference between the SPOT and Landsat images in their ability to resolve fine spatial detail is really quite remarkable. Canberran readers will, no doubt, now begin to find their home pixel, the exact location of their place of residence. After contemplating the enormous wealth of information in this image, we can ask - what significant change in this urban environmental would not be detected using satellite data with this fine resolution?
